Since the diagonal is 62” on my gate, I went with the 6’ adjustable latch rather than the fixed 64” latch, as recommended by Bill. It worked perfectly and was easy to install.
I removed the gate latches and worked first on adjusting the gate so that it would swing freely. Once I adjusted the True Latch so that the gate would swing freely, I also needed to trim a little of the wood on the gate so that I could reinstall the gate latches at the proper height.
The gate now swings freely and the gate latches properly so it can be locked.
I plan to order another one for the gate on the opposite side of the house.
This is a great product! I have tried a few other methods to help with the sagging gate (wire cable with turnbuckle), but they were only temporary solutions. This is a solid product. It took about 30-45 minutes to install - a little longer than average. I am very particular, and did this methodically, so that I would not split the wood or strip the threads on the self-tapping screws.
Installed this item immediately after receiving. Installed the bracket and the gate within days and what a difference. The gate in longer hit the brick sidewalk and I no longer have to use my foot to lift the gate up to get more clearance to open. Would highly recommend if having issues.
The True Latch anti sag gate kit is an excellent product for preventing or repairing gate sag. I just installed the gate kit on a new wooden fence gate and the gate brace works like a charm, is well made and is easy to install. Installation takes about 10 minutes and is easily done with basic hand tools. Definitely recommend this gate kit.
The directions for installation are clear except whether to attach at high point on hinge or latch side. I attached on latch side down to hinge side, and it worked to lift latch side and remove warp from gate. It is pricey, but it works.
Easy to install and completely straightened out the door. Also adjusted back to correct alignment so door latches and closes. Anyone who has a wooden gate door should get this!
Excellent product. Do read the instructions concerning existing diagonal supports. If they are not removed, the product will still work, but there may be noticable bowing to the gate.
Clear instructions and very well made. You really need DRILL/DRIVER to assemble. The 6' model fits a four feet wide by six feet high gate very well. Easy to adjust the gate alignment.
I put this on a wooden gate that had been installed just a few months earlier. I was already having problems with the latches aligning. The entire gate was pulling downward. I saw this product on Amazon and it made sense so I thought I would order it and try it out even though it was a bit expensive for an "experiment". I'm so glad I took the risk because it works perfectly. I installed it myself after removing the 2"x4" brace the builder put on. I have adjusted it twice--when I first put it on and then a small adjustment a week or so later. I check on it every couple of weeks and the latch alignment is still perfect. I will never put up another heavy gate without using this. My gate is 5'x4' with 1"x6"s and 1"x4"s.
The true latch kit pulled my gate from rubbing on the post where the latches is by an 1/8 of an inch. It's not rubbing anymore on the post at the top but it did create a bigger gap at the bottom of the gate compared to the top. The gate opened perfectly when it was first made 3 years ago and the true latch kit didn't quite fix it to when it was 1st built but it works and it'll due for now.
I bought this for my friend that lives 1800 miles away. She knows how to turn a screwdriver, but refers to most tools as do-hickeys or thingy-machiggers. I was able to walk her through the install via facetime. Her gate was seriously sagging. She was able to install it and it fixed the gate! She so happy and now the gate can close. Took a about 30 mins to install for her. Great product!
Not only did this brace fix the sag in my gate, it also straightened out the twist in the gate so now it sits square with the gate post. Excellent product that took less than 10 minutes to install.
I bought this and installed it to correct my wooden gate's sagging. I had previously used an item from our local big box hardware center. This worded for a while but never all that well and never as well as this product. After installing this product I am confident that my sagging gate problem has been resolved for the foreseeable future. Instructions were decent and clear enough for me to install with no problems. I would recommend this product to anyone who is trying to correct a sagging gate. Just be sure to get the correct size for your gate and follow the directions and you will be pleased.
I'm a diy, and just recently finished building a yard gate. Originally I bought a $15 anti-sag kit along with the rest of the hardware for the door then I realized it wasn't going to work because of the curved design of the door, plus in my opinion, it wasn't going to complement the door. So I looked up anti-sag kits on the internet and came across this product. I compared it to similar, less expensive products, but this one looked better made and less complicated to install. Another reason I decided to ordered it is that it is made here in the USA, very important to me. I installed the door and literally it sagged 1/8 of an inch overnight, the latch kept it from sagging even more. I had to wait for this kit a few more days than expected but I got it. I'm really happy with the materials used for this kit, super strong, great surface finish, and the installation is a breeze. It took me 30 minutes, half which I spend reading the installation instructions and gathering tools. 1/4 turn on the adjusting nuts it's all it took to straighten the door to where it's suppose to be. Just one quick extra note; my door is 1 5/8" thick, so I used a couple of washers on the long bottom screws to keep them from protruding to the other side.
This works great, super easy to install, raised a 42 inch by 4 foot high gate 1 1/2 inches without breaking anything. I dinged them one star on quality of materials, as I twisted the head off one screw on the top bracket very easily. As noted in some other reviews, these galvanized screws are soft, and they WILL rust. Given the quality of the overall product, I'd easily pay an extra few bucks for stainless, hardened, screws that will last and never rust. One other suggestion, not everyone owns a set of hex nut drivers, so I would prefer screws, or at least threaded heads.Great product, works better than expected, and returned my privacy fence gate to it's original dimensions very easily.

Bought the 2 piece 6ft telescopic/adjustable true latch product. Powder coated black. PROS: 100% worked as advertise. Door sag gone.High quality product/materials. No flaws Straight forward install but easier with help. YouTube instructional video available. CONS: Only one Compression forces used to raise the door introduce slight twist to the door. I was worried about possible twist but forged ahead with optimism. The significant removal of sag out weighs the "very slight" door twist. Glad I didn't stall with worries or over think my purchase.
I would totally recommend the True Latch. My wooden fence was dragging so badly that I could barely open it. After installing the True Latch and adjusting it, I can open my fence door fully without any dragging whatsoever!
